Let's start with the Eveleigh Works workshop: even if you know nothing about blacksmithing and metalwork, the Eveleigh Works workshop is just full of history and cool machinery. From the historic machinery no longer in active service (but still functioning) to the massive power hammers and even the modern machinery like lathes and mills. The amount of passion and pride that Matt and his team have for their workshop and craft is actually inspiring.
Damascus steel course: if you're looking at this course, chances are that you've Googled, YouTubed, Facebooked, Pinterested the magical art of "Damascus steel" and come across all the nuances and mysticism of forge welding. In this course, Matt expels all that mysticism. After my aggregate of probably 10 hours forging experience tinkering in my garage, I thought I may have been out of my league in this class. But at the end of it and under Matt's straightforward and clear direction, I came away with a beautiful damascus billet and feeling confident that I'd be able to replicate this method on my own.
I just have to decide what class I will do next ...
