Finally a course that delivers exactly what it says on the tin. Matt must be a great trainer because I have a knife that looks like I bought it from a shop, when I, in fact, made it from scratch. The workshop is a great location to spend a weekend forging new skills.
Had an amazing weekend at Eveleigh Works. The class is well-structured, and guidance is provided step-by-step to ensure you will forge a beautiful knife after two days. Matt is very knowledgeable and good at teaching. Will definitely return for more sessions.
Having just come off a full weekend of knife making, I can’t recommend this enough. Matt is an excellent teacher - fun, relatable, dumbs things down enough for even the most incompetent (me), and keeps things going at a pace that lets you complete work well and move to the next task with ease.
Everleigh Works is a fantastic location - huge, open, historic, full of awesome machinery from eons past, and surrounded by cafes, restaurants and great bars.
Not to mention, the joy of holding a finished knife, polished sharpened and with a bespoke handle in place (having held it in your hands 36 hours before as a single lump of steel) is pretty awesome. Already trying to figure out when to do the next course…!
